How to repair Windows xp that suddenly turned into windows 98 automatically?

I was scanning for virus so I let it(my computer) on its own, then when I came back he screen suddenly turned black. I rebooted my computer, then a bunch of languages that I cannot understand popped up. I restarted again then boom, it turned to windows 98. What should I do? Thanks.
