Recently installed a win xp.after two days , computer has become slow and freezes before becoming responsive?

the browser freezes when i open links and it becomes unresponsive.it takes some time to become responsive.if i try to force the pace a blue screen appears and before i could read it it , the system reboots.Even when i click on the drives this sort of problem occurs.
