My Acer is stuck in Safe Mode after a system restore?

The other night, I got this pop-up asking if a certain program (don't remember which) could make a change to my computer. I always click 'No' when these things pop up, but this one just kept popping up, so I went ahead and clicked 'Yes.' Then my computer automatically restarted and instead of letting me log in to my desktop, this scan searching for errors popped up instead. It would tell me there was a problem while scanning however, and that I would just have to restart or shut down my computer. If I restarted it, it would just do the same thing every time. So then I went into the other options on the screen and went ahead and did a system restore (I do believe it's called) where you pretty much delete everything off your computer and it's the way it is when you first bought it. That seemed to be doing pretty well until it got to the 18th out of 19 steps...the System Cleanup. It would restart my computer and suggest I go into Safe Mode and delete any reccently installed programs. I haven't installed any reccently, and even if I have, I don't remember what it was or what I should delete! If I choose to reboot in Normal Mode, it lets me log in, but goes right back to the 18th step and just restarts itself again. Is there a way to fix this on my own? Hope this makes sense. PLEASE HELP!

You have a broken CD drive. The fact you you cannot see anything broken is meaningless. CDs are optical drives and work by focusing a movable Laser through a lens for reading and writing. It doesn't take much to cause the lens either not to move, crack, or have the Laser itself not work. My feeling is that the lens is stuck and will not move back and forth hence the black screen as it cannot read the beginning of a CD but is still reading something.

Combat Arms keeps crashing when I play?

Why hasn't my anxiety gone away?

About two months ago I smoked marijuana for the third time ever. I enjoyed it the first two times blah blah blah, but not so much the third time. I was sort of tripping and the high started to feel like a dream. I got scared and had a really bad panic attack that night. I took me a week after that to get over how scared I felt that night. But I reached a point where I was completely over it. I thought it was irrational to worry about something that wasn't a "real" feeling anyway, so I moved on. Then a week after that I woke up feeling derealization again or maybe it was in my head, but it doesn't matter because it scared the s**t out of me. When the feeling went away a couple hours later It scared me that I felt that way while I wasn't high. It took me another week and three days to get over it. Then one night I was reading about derealization and out of the blue I had a panic attack. For a while I had a constant fear of having panic attacks. I saw a therapist at my school, told most of my family and read more than you can imagine on the internet. Now I'm at a place where I can control my fear. But the physical anxiety symptoms that usually precede a panic attack won't go away. It bothers me because they occur even when I'm not scared. I think I have developed a moderate anxiety disorder but nothing critical yet. Should I see a doctor? I really don't want to take prescription drugs to make these feelings go away. I regret smoking marijuana that night more than anything, If i knew I'd be a nervous wreck all the time I would have never f***ing done it. It wasn't even fun while the high was "good". I despise the fact that I blindly made a decision that could potentially effect me for the rest of my life... When I feel anxious it's like nothing else matters. I could have a thousands good things in front of me and not see any of them because it feels terrible while it's happening. What should I do?

Wow, that's quite an episode. Firstly, I don't think he's upset with you. I think he's embarrassed of what happened because he didn't hear you on the other end of the line. He may have thought that you were thinking how weird he is or thought that you hung up on him. I think it's best to clear things up right away. It may take a while for him to get over his embarrassment & call you back, but it'll happen. Just be sure to continue texting/calling him every other day so he knows you still want to talk. You've got to be honest with how you felt about the phone sex incident (turned on, turned off, grossed out, interested, you want more, you don't want more- whatever) the next time you talk to him. It'll be a comfort to him to know what you were thinking because his imagination is probably coming up with things ten times worse than what you're actually thinking. I don't know if that makes much sense, but essentially, I've been crying 2 or more times a day, almost every day for a few months now. I lay down in bed at night, and it's like that's my cue to just start crying. Well it's you network not your iPod since on your laptop it says error it must be either your modem or router. Try restarting your modem by pulling the plug, then restart computer. Usually your iPod can connect to any wifi network it's not that it can't get a signal it's that your network isnt connected to the internet. Making it a local area connection, if your on pc got to network and sharing setting click on your network and click diagnose and then windows will look and see if it has anything to do with your actual computer. Why won't computer recognize drives other than c:?

I have an mp3 player and a flash drive on 2 usb ports. Even if the drives are listed in windows explorer, when I click on them nothing happens. Drives don't open. Folders don't come up. I just installed rise and fall civillizations at war, which in order to install I had to copy files onto the harddrive from my disks. My Grandmother died in 2009 and apparently (according to the rumor) she signed everything over to my aunt before she passed. If your system is still covered under the warranty then I suggest called the dealer you purchased it from and tell them exactly what the problem is. They may tell you that you have installed something interfering with the system operation, or they may tell you that an exe file is missing etc.. it is possible that something is also preventing it from opening, such as tape or some foreign object stuck inside. But in the end there are too many possibilities to identify the problem.

If it only happens when you game it's probably your graphics card. If you keep your video drivers up to date you may need to roll the driver back to an earlier version, also make sure the games that you're playing don't have any patches that you may need. Help with misbehaving children!?

Some people believe in time outs(whether that be 5mins. in a corner or pulling them out of the zoo and taking them home). Some people believe in loosing privileges(taking away tv, toys, etc...). Some people believe in a spanking(when I say spanking I do NOT mean beating your child. I mean a swat on the bottom when you are not angry). Some people believe in a combination of all of the above. Whatever works for you and your children - you have to be consistent. If they act up at the zoo, and you decide to take the tv away for 4 days stick to that, do not give it back after 2. If they get punished for the zoo incident and you go to the grocery store, and they act up. Whatever you did for punishment at the zoo, do it for the next incident. Right now, from your short ? I am assuming your kids listen to your wife more than you. They see your wife as the authority figure, and you as lets have fun and play. I don't think she should of yelled at you. Although my husband & I have a certain amount of equality in our marriage - even when we disagree, we do it behind closed doors out of the kids ears. We don't yell, we talk it out. The kids will pick up on that and think they can do whatever. You have to come together as a team, make the kids understand that both parents are in charge and whatever you choose for punishment, be consistent. On the flip side, it does help if lets say you took them to the zoo, grocery store or wherever they get rewarded for good behavior. This way they don't only see the negative, they see the positive side too. Both will sink in.

Random blue screens of death with Nvidia drivers?

I used Driver Max 5 to update my Nvidia GT Geforce 240M drivers but it messed everything up after rebooting (it was as if it had uninstalled the graphical drivers, computer had low resolution, etc) and had to resort to install the drivers using Nvidia's website. It went back to normal, but then blue screens of death started appearing randomly and turning off the computer. I can access windows normally but the screens still appear. I tried uninstalling everything related to Nvidia drivers and reinstalling, but no luck. This was without using safe mode though. Do I have to resort to use safe mode and uninstalling and then installing through there?

Iphone 4 "no service" after using apps?

I just want to ask if anybody here who experienced this... after using an app like playing games on iphone 4, the signal goes down and finally to "no service". I did a hard reboot and then the Iphone goes to recovery mode ( Stuck) and telling me to restore... . "BUT" when I turn off the iphone and plug it to the USB to the computer to restore,,,everything goes to normal ,I got signal and everything even if I did'nt restore it yet. this is weird and annoying.is there any fix for this? thanks everyone

I have the G2X phone and so far its been great! the only thing i could possibly think of is maybe the fact that i cant scroll through the text after ive typed a long line of text?. I use Go Launcher and its just perfect! :-P Overclocked it to 1.45 Ghz per Second, customized all the effects as well as main LOCK. I really cant think of any problems with this phone! :-P

I never gave the cop any of their address or phone numbers, yet he had all of them. To add to this, the cop never read me my rights if that changes anything. My Kindle 2 screen is really messed up, how do I fix it?

I had a Kindle for about 6 months and then randomly the upper right screen become like frozen with the screen saver image on it when I would wake it up and there was a bunch of distortion and weird lines. So I figured I'd dropped it or accidentally hit it or something. Called Amazon, got a new one, no big deal. Now I've had this one (still a Kindle 2) for only a few weeks and it's doing the EXACT same thing. I've taken great care of it, so what is going on!? Need help with my Blackberry Bold?

After removing and replacing the battery for my Blackberry Bold to reboot, the red LED light goes on for a few seconds and the clock loading screen proceeds to show for about 7 seconds. After this, it goes black when the rebooting screen should show. For a split second, I can vaguely see the rebooting screen and after a minute or two when it would normally be done rebooting, the red LED light flashes as if I have a message. Clearly the phone is on but the LED screen is just not working right. How can i fix this? Maybe a loose screen connection?? HELP

Minecraft locks up my computer?

I've been playing single player minecraft on my laptop. I got a gift code from my brother for it. We also play on a multiplayer server, but my net is acting up, so I've been playing solo. I can play for about 15 minutes before it locks up. And when it locks up, it TOTALLY locks up. I can't do anything with the machine, without doing a hard reboot. I've updated my virus software, done a system restore (but not to the point before I got minecraft), defragged, run Malwarebytes, everything I can think of. I tried uninstalling Minecraft, but it doesn't seem to be installed, just the icon on my desktop. Can anyone tell me what's going on, or at least how to remove Minecraft from my system so I can re download?

My Friend Seeing Demons?

Okay, so my friend said she used to see demons and everything very badly and she claimed that she really did see them and everything. She acted really weird, like back in sixth grade she was a very depressing person to be around and everything, she used to cut herself and one time when her and a couple of my friends were taking a picture she kept saying (in a very happy joyous glad it's like that way) hey don't I look like I'm possessed or there's something within me or look demonic? We don't know how all this started and everything but it was pretty bad. Now I know some people would say she needs help etc. She has gotten help, that isn't doing to well at all, she did go away to the mental institution for 6 months and everything and now she takes this LOAD of pills. If she doesn't.. let's just say it's like living hell. I mean shes rude, arrogant, stuck, snobby, think she knows everything, she also like to make smart comments and talk about peoples lives when her own is messed up already. She's more toned down now but the whole pill thing still happens and there are at times where she seems like she would still be "seeing" things. I really don't know anymore, the only reason I'm putting this question on here is because the whole trail is literally on it's way back again.. only it's gotten worse. So what do you think?

1.0TB Hard Drive Drive Letter?

I have a 1.0TB Hard drive as a secondary drive to store videos from my surveillance system. It is stored under drive letter S:\. I go to "Create and format hard drive partitions" under "control panel". Then i go to "Change Drive Letter and Paths". Then "Add". Then change it to drive letter S:\. Everything will go fine until I turn off my computer then when i reboot, the 1.0TB hard drive will not have a drive letter and I have to repeat the process over and over. Both drives are healthy. Both also say active, primary partitions. My C:\ drive also says system, boot, etc. My motherboard and OS (windows 7 32-bit) support the 1.0 TB hard drive. I need to get the hard drive to keep its Drive Letter, even after reboot. I can see the hard drive on "My Computer" and then when it reboots its gone again. I have tried assigning it to different drive letters so that is not the problem. Under the BIOS i was able to set up the drive with no problem and the drive shows up every time whenever i try assigning it to a letter. Any suggestions will help

BLACKBERRY BOLD black screen, still on?!?

After taking the battery out of my Blackberry Bold, the red LED light goes on for a few seconds and the screen shows the loading clock for about 10 seconds then turns black. Hey I live in MD got pulled over on route 70. Cop tells me "it looked like I was going to fast and to catch up to me he had to do 80 mph". Windows 7 Reboots at "Starting Windows" Screen?

I just got a computer from my friend so I decided to move my harddrive and video card from the old computer to the new, not much of a problem. However when i booted the computer the computer would get to the "Starting Windows" screen and then it would just restart, as if I turned the computer off and turned it back on. I ended up formatting my harddrive and reinstalled Windows 7 and then I put my files back on with an external harddrive but I was just wondering if there was anyway other than that in order to solve that problem. [By the way, I have already tried to do the system repair using the Windows 7 disk but when I tried it the program said that it either "could not automatically repair startup" or that it "couldn't detect a problem". I fiddled with partitions and now i cant run my netbook.?

okay so im trying to install windows xp from a usb because i have a netbook. i also wanted to allocate some more space for the C: drive because it was using 40gb of space and my D: had 100gb. so i deleted both of the partitions i saw. now when i create both partitions i try to go to the install thing in the menu and it says do you want to format? i put yes then after the windows xp professional set up screen it basically says i dont have enough space. and then it says setup was unable to locate such a drive with the required amount of free space. and when i hit enter it reboots my pc. what am i doing wrong? how do i create the partitions to where i can have more in my C drive or atleast getting my computer back to running again? am i suppose to make a extended? i just want my c drive and d drives back. i also tried making the drive active. please help i just want my netbook to run again.

I cant run a scan on normal mode?

I have recently been having problems with my laptop. The only thing that barely works on normal mode is my games. Everything else including internet and anti virus freezes up and doesnt respond. You can actually wait on the internet and some other apps but it takes like 5 minutes for it to respond. When the anti virus freezes up in never responds. I have already ran a few full scans on safe mode and I am pretty cleaned up. But dont i need to scan it on normal mode now that i still have issues? The only other problems i can think of are getting notified sometimes on reboot that by batteries storage cap is very low. Also on reboot i ran system diagnostics and each one mentioned "replace hard disk 1" as my hard disk check obviously failed. Do either one of these effect my normal mode performance? Everything runs perfectly fine in safe mode. So what do i do and where can i start from here?

Blackberry Bold help!!?

After removing and replacing the battery for my Blackberry Bold to reboot, the red LED light goes on for a few seconds and the clock loading screen proceeds to show for about 7 seconds. After this, it goes black when the rebooting screen should show. For a split second, I can vaguely see the rebooting screen and after a minute or two when it would normally be done rebooting, the red LED light flashes as if I have a message. Clearly the phone is on but the LED screen is just not working right. How can i fix this? Maybe a loose screen connection?? HELP

Life/people/ situations have a way of turning our attitudes from happy to sad, joyous, to angry and so on. When caught up in these moments what do you do to come back to a good attitude again. I've come to realize that we have to try to turn it around again to where it all began, In trying to keep our attitudes positive we must fight to stay positive. Example; Today when I wanted things to go a certain way that would be encouraging and inspiring to all involved, it didn't happen b/c the person I needed to make it happen wasn't available, or able to help make it happen. I was so disappointed it blew my bubble, and turned my good attitude sour. I reasoned within myself as I saw myself going down hill. Then I realize that I am control of my own destiny, and attitude. Unlocked Blackberry, service does not work?

I recently subscribed to a new blackberry service through AT&T on my unlocked Curve 8520, which I bought in Dubai. I've used it in other countries through wi-fi, as well as here in South Carolina on wi-fi. I subscribed to one of the new plans, which offers 100 mb of data for 15/month. Since subscribing and rebooting, the browser services have worked, but BBM and email has yet to begin working. I've tried a soft reboot and a hard reboot since. Is there anything else I can try? Why doesn't my iPod touch save photos correctly to my photos app from email?

Well, my iPod touch is jailbroken, I believe a 3rd generation, but currently upgraded to 4.1..which is slow:( anyways, my iPod touch seems to be weirding out. Ok? So I went on all my emails, gmail, yahoo, etc. On mail app And tried to save photos that I sent from my phone. When I tried to save them, I checked my photos app, the photos showed up, but when I clicked on the photos I saved, they would not allow me to view the photo, when I used the little button for deleting, emailing or copying at the bottom of the iPod or top, the photos completely dissapeared or when I used a photo editing app, the photos from my email would not show up in the app..so what I did was, I clicked images near the photos I saved from my email from my phone, and I moved to the photos I saved, and the photos I saved were low resolution, cropped, looked bad. This happened to my bro too. Our iPods aren't broken, water spilled into, or cracked. My iPod has a lot of apps on it, jailbroken.. What are my options? And what are some possible solutions? I reseted all my settings, rebooted, went on safari to save photos from my email from my phone, went on safe mode? I need professional help for this... PS it was working a few days ago.

After Bill refuses to let anyone into the bomb shelter because of the lack of food, room, and possibly air that would not be enough to support more than three people, the group of friends and neighbors begin to show their true colors. Conflict arises and during the altercations, hurtful words are exchanged between friends as they bickered and argued over who should go into the shelter and who shouldn’t, and a fist fight even breaks out as they all try to forcefully stuff more than a dozen people into a 10x10 bomb shelter; that very same bomb shelter that they laughed at Bill for building in the first place. Eventually, they try to break down the door in hopes of being saved but just as they get through the door, the yellow alert is called off. Lost video icons but videos still play.?

I've been scratching my head for nearly 2 hours now, I got a virus which disabled my anti virus and started deleting all my files until i was left with a blank screen, I rebooted my PC into Safe mode and did a system restore and it returned most of my icons. However, When I browse My Computer and have a look for my films i cant seen to find them anywhere, Ive booted up media player and all my films are still there and playable, a few more of the files are the same, I recently saved a file in photoshop, couldn't find it where i saved it too, then i open photoshop clicked on recent files and it was there in the drop down list and i could open it! So im just missing the shortcuts/icons, I presume that my registry has been loaded (through System Restore) to default, So i tried a different restore point and that didn't work either. I thought i had backed up my registry with CCleaner but i couldn't find that either. Help! I've run out of ideas!!

My hp laptop won't work. ?

Well I have a HP laptop and it won't turn on. I tired to reboot by turning it off taking the battery out and unplugging it multiple times. It still hasn't worked. I know that it's somewhat alive because the cap lock key and the scroll/number lock key are blinking. It hasn't been working since June 22. I would like to know the cheapest, easiest way possible. I have a Person who will fix the laptop for free but I won't be able to get my laptop fixed until Thursday.

I lost my friends in a club last night and by the end of the night I was alone, and so a bouncer I had befriended offered to help look for them. When we'd established that they'd gone he then took me to his car and told me he'd take me home. Being completely drunk I saw no problem with this, also after discovering that my phone had run out of battery and I had lost my bank card and had no cash on me I had no other way of getting home from town. When inside his car he offered me beer and cigarettes, which I accepted. He asked me if I wanted to do anything after, suggesting I go back to his house, but I politely declined explaining that as it was after 5am and I was feeling very ill and drunk, I really just needed to go home to bed. He then preceded to touch my leg and again ask if i wanted to go back. On the journey he made a detour to his house telling me that he was going to get a 'spliff', leaving me inside his car. When I saw that he had entered his house and shut the door behind him I made a run for it, having no idea where I was or how to get home. When I got to a main road I looked for trustworthy people to help get me home, in the meantime the bouncer had got back into his car and had found me, he called my name beckoning for me to get back into his car but i just ran. I subsequently found a woman to walk me to the nearest bus stop. I don't know what would have come of me staying in his car and wouldn't want to make any false assumptions or allegations, but at the same time i'm not entirely sure if what happened was appropriate or legitimate, being in the vulnerable position that i was. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My sound isn't working on my XP computer! Please help!?

So basically, I reformatted an old office computer we had, which is running XP Professional. I went to plug in a set of speakers, and nothing happened, no sound. There is not even a volume icon in the system tray because it is not reading a sound device. I checked the device manager, everything seems to be ok (drivers are ok, no alerts/exclamation points). So the device manager says everything is working properly. I even went into the BIOS and disabled, booted, rebooted, enabled the onboard audio, still nothing. The sound jack is part of the motherboard. When I go to control panel and then sound, it reads it as if there is no sound device. I know the speakers work because I used them in another computer, and I know the driver works because I used the same driver that it was already running prior to reformatting. I would also say it's a bad sound port, but this computer has jacks on the back and front, and neither work. Can anyone help? Thank you!!

What should i do about this issue ?

I recently installed the latest video driver for my nvidia 7600 gt and after the reboot, thick white lines appeared on the screen and after about 30 sec the monitor shut down. The screen refresh was changed to 85Hz, but when i tried to enter vga mode to change the refresh rate back to 60Hz, the screen had the same problem. I uninstalled the driver in safe mode and the problem was gone, but i cant play any games and scrolling is choppy and tiresome for the eyes.

Car makes popping sound when making hard turn or hard dip and extreme grinding sound when braking?

OK, this is all the front passenger side tire. My brake light has been on forever, but I haven't heard a squeal from the brakes that precedes changing usually. When I turn quick left or pull out of my driveway (large decline then flat) turning left it makes a loud pop once. When I'm driving really slow and put the brakes on or sometimes just when I've let go of the brakes and am driving but been at a light for a while I get an extremely loud grinding sound but only from that one side where the popping comes from. Tips on becoming more Mature?

Well, instead of wearing what you normally do, go out and buy some things that are more revealing or well, just not "kid" looking. Experiment with make-up and find something that looks really nice on you. Again not "kid" looking. As far as acting more mature, that takes work.... you have to constantly think about your actions and what their effects are going to be. Like a kid would say "I don't want to do my homework so I won't" but an adult would say " I don't want to do my homework, but I have to so I can get a good grade, pass the class, graduate, and get a job". You have to be more responsible, and think about your actions. That is mainly what being mature is, but there is a more to it... I'm not sure how to explain it very well. sorry.
