If being a Christian is so joyous and wonderful, why are so many Christians taking antidepressants?

The unfortunate fact is that in many Christian groups, taking antidepressants is seen as a failure of character, and people are expected to bootstrap themselves through prayer. In these groups people are *not* on antidepressants and other drugs that they should be taking to treat depression, bipolar disorder, and even schizophrenia.
